VISION FOR POSITION
Substitute Teachers are committed members of a school team, closing the opportunity gap for students and providing high-quality instruction when substitute coverage is needed. We expect that 50% of this position will be subbing in classrooms and 50% supporting individual and small groups of students as an educational assistant. A Substitute Teacher is intensely focused on each student’s growth. To do this, the Substitute Teacher provides a loving, structured classroom rooted in high expectations for behavior and learning. The Substitute Teacher will report to the Principal and work with all members of the school team and the Grade Team Leader. This opportunity is ideal for someone energized by challenging work, hungry for feedback, and able to work collaboratively across lines of difference with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness. This role will be providing classroom instruction out of multiple classrooms as needed, and assignments may change in grade level and campus location throughout the year based on network needs.
