VISION FOR POSITION

The Daycare Teacher will be a member of Prodeo Academy's Early Childhood Team and will play an integral role in supporting the academic program by caring for the enrolled children of Prodeo staff. The individual will report to the Early Childhood Coordinator and the Director of Operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience caring for infants and toddlers and strong communication skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
  • Observe all rules and regulations at Prodeo Academy and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to children's health, safety, and care.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with curriculum and programming.
  • Plans parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with a member of the Leadership Team.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions confidently.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom and common use areas
  • Attends all required staff meetings
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance
  • Assists in other capacities that the Director determines are necessary

SKILLS

  • Outstanding attention to detail and willingness to get the job done
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and implementation skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • CDA or BA degree in early childhood or elementary education is preferred.
  • Must be MN Rule 3 Lead Teacher qualified.
  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergencies
  • Must be able to secure first aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

COMPENSATION

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
