Position Title: Summer Adult ESL and Family Literacy Childcare Worker

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an organized childcare worker who will provide support for our summer Adult ESL and Family Literacy program two days per week in June and July, 2023. The Childcare Worker will help sign up families for our summer program and provide on-site childcare for the Adult ESL and Family Literacy teacher. The worker will assist with support tasks, in addition to supervising the children (no more than 20) in the childcare room during each lesson (snacks provided). The Childcare worker will help distribute bus/gas cards to families.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Family Enrollment and Support
- Participate in summer program training and onboarding
- Before the beginning of the program, reach out to families and help them sign up
- Reach out to families to ensure attendance
- Communicate with families via phone and text, either in their native language or through interpreters
- Distribute bus and gas cards to families as needed
Summer Program Support
- Be onsite for each of the 2 classes per week
- Staff the childcare room during the lessons
- Distribute snack to children (maximum of 20 children)
- Show a movie or provide other activities for the duration of each 90 minute lesson
- Assist in the family literacy portion of the lesson, if children participating with their parents
- Take attendance for each child in the childcare room

QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Karen and/or Kayah language skills highly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and actively seek assistance when needed
COMPENSATION
This position is part-time from 6/24/2023 until 7/29/2023. During the weeks of 6/6 and 6/13, paid training is provided, and outreach to families begins (4 hours/week). The summer program runs from 6/24 - 7/29, and the Operations Associate is expected to work 5 hours/week. The stipend for the position is $2,000, or roughly $52.63/hour.
