VISION FOR THE POSITION

Prodeo Academy is currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide educational speech/language evaluation and intervention to children. Ability, skills, and training necessary to provide consultation and direct services to children with communication disorders with or without accompanying disabilities. Education Speech Language Pathologist Licensure required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in communication disorders, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensure: Valid speech language pathologist license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education, certificate of clinical competence (ASHA), and valid driver's license in the state of Minnesota
  • Experience: Experience working with a wide variety of communication needs. Experience in due process including evaluations, IEP's and 504 Plans.

Job Duties:

  • Provide research-based speech and language services identified on the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) of students with disabilities.
  • Provide speech and language services in a variety of service delivery models.
  • Comply with all state and federal special education rules and regulations.
  • Schedule and hold IEP meetings within required timelines; Facilitate IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with Special Education Teachers and/or Special Education Coordinator and IEP members to develop IEPs.
  • Complete IEPs and progress notes in a timely manner.
  • Objectively assess student's communication skill (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) to identify communication disorders, determine program eligibility and develop recommendations for treatment.
  • Instruct assigned support staff regarding providing information related to student's IEP goals and/or accommodations.
  • Maintain records & billing consistently, and remain in compliance with regulatory requirements, and stay consistent with district practices.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents in a variety of forms.
  • Implement school and district policies and procedures.
  • Model the behaviors expected of the students.
  • Implement and teach the core values established by our school as the focus of instruction and discussion when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of speech and language diagnosis and therapy, casework methods and procedures, and of local, state, and federal resources, programs, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
